2022 Product Launch – Born from Everyday Practice: Inspital Presents Operating Table OT80.20 Novus
It began the way great innovations often begin: by listening closely. Day after day, physicians, nursing staff, and OR teams face the same invisible hurdles: an operating table that can’t be adjusted precisely enough. Patient positioning that doesn’t intuitively adapt to surgical needs. Technology that demands too much attention at critical moments—instead of integrating seamlessly into the workflow.
This feedback didn’t come in isolation, but from hospitals and operating rooms worldwide.
And they all had one message: We need more than stability. We need a partner at the heart of the action.
With this vision, Inspital set out on its journey. Together with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR nursing teams, every step was questioned, every movement analyzed, and every requirement for a modern operating table rethought.
The result is the OT80.20 NOVUS:
An operating table that opened a new chapter in medical technology in 2022—developed not only to support everyday surgical work, but to revolutionize it.
Born from real-world practice - designed for the future
The NOVUS wasn’t designed on a drawing board—it was born from feedback from countless surgeons, OR nurses, and medical technology specialists. Every button press, every movement, every function came from the central question: How can we noticeably improve the day-to-day reality in the OR?
The result is an electrohydraulic operating table that stands out not only for its technical sophistication, but also for its practicality in everyday use. A reliable foundation for every surgical discipline—from general surgery to high-precision medicine.
Safety in motion - intelligent technology that thinks ahead
Inside the NOVUS is high-tech that thinks ahead: integrated anti-collision sensors detect obstacles and automatically stop movements before any risk arises. Especially in dynamic OR environments where equipment, staff, and patients work together in the tightest of spaces, this is an invaluable safety factor.
Even more control comes from the intuitive hand control: with battery status display, motion-sensitive degree indicator, and user-defined memory positions, OR positioning can be recalled quickly—again and again, exactly the same. This saves time and increases focus on what matters most: the patient.
Flexibility meets ergonomics
With dimensions of 560 x 2200 mm, the OT80.20 NOVUS is suitable for a wide range of procedures—including bariatric patients. The electrohydraulic movements can be performed smoothly, precisely, and quietly. Surgical access, positioning comfort, and freedom of movement are ensured at all times—whether for minimally invasive procedures or complex operations. In addition, the T-base design enables maximum compatibility with imaging procedures—the table does not obstruct either view or access.
Comfort for every OR
The NOVUS also thinks of those who are the quietest: the patients. Two specially developed mattress types provide individualized comfort: the visco mattress adapts to body contours, distributes pressure evenly, and reduces the risk of pressure points—ideal for long procedures. The polyurethane mattress, on the other hand, impresses with its firm structure, high durability, and optimal hygiene—perfect for the high-turnover demands of everyday OR work. Both variants are resistant to disinfectants and meet the highest standards in infection control.
An operating table that thinks ahead. For teams that think ahead.
The OT80.20 NOVUS symbolizes the path Inspital has consistently pursued for years: medical technology that doesn’t just work, but understands. Understands what OR teams need. Understands that safety is not an option, but an obligation. And understands that the best technology is the kind that puts people at the center.
With the NOVUS, Inspital once again proves that innovation doesn’t have to be loud—it has to be effective. Not complicated—but well thought out. Not flashy—but reliable.
